Hall sues for 'serious injuries'; says large truck 'hit and ran'

LOUISA – Cody Hall, a Louisa resident, has filed a civil action in the Lawrence Circuit Court alleging that Jeremy Jude, operating a truck for B.J.A. Trucking of Huntington, West Virginia, crashed into his vehicle on US 23 near Louisa, that the crash caused him to be “severely injured” and that the driver “fled the scene.”

According to the suit filed on Hall’s behalf by Kyle Salyer of Kirk & Crum, PLLC, the Louisa Police Department “responding to a hit and run call,” caused Jude to be stopped in Fort Gay, W. Va. The suit alleges that Jude denied that his vehicle had been involved in a crash but, the suit further alleges, the police officers thought otherwise after they observed the truck.

“We know we can prove that Mr. Hall has been badly injured,” John Kirk said. “We also think we can prove that his injuries resulted from the crash into his car by the big truck owned by B.J.A. Trucking. Mr. Hall has been a working man whose ability to now work and earn a living has been destroyed. Now, instead of earning money from his work, he is faced with large and mounting expenses for his medical care.”

Hall’s lawsuit demands a jury trial; compensation that will “reasonably compensate him;” compensation for “lost wages, present, past and future medical expenses; past, present, and future pain and suffering; for any and all loss of his permanent impairment of his ability to earn wages; compensation for any “consequential damages; his litigation costs and attorney’s fees and “any other relief “the court deems just and proper.”
